Individual Membership Routes

I. Normal Membership Route

The Normal Membership Route is designed for individuals who are graduates from recognized institutions, either within Nigeria or abroad. This route requires candidates to sit for and pass the Council’s Sit-In CBT-Based Mandatory Professional Examination (MPE) conducted every October.

  • Eligibility: Any individual graduate with the relevant minimum qualifications obtained from COMEG accredited or recognized Institutions of Higher Learning.
  • Examination: A CBT-Based Mandatory Professional Examination (MPE) held every October.
  • Documentation: Submit the required documentation, including proof of qualifications and other relevant documents.
  • Fees: All prescribed fees for the registration and examination process must be paid in full.

Successful candidates will be inducted and granted full membership upon passing the examination.

II. Executive Online Route

This route follows the same procedure as the Normal Membership Route, but with the distinction that candidates are required to take an Online-Based Mandatory Professional Examination instead of the Sit-In CBT-Based examination. This online examination occurs two weeks after the CBT examination.

  • Eligibility: Individual graduates with the required qualifications from accredited institutions.
  • Examination: Online-Based Mandatory Professional Examination (MPE), held a fortnight after the CBT exam.
  • Documentation: Required documentation and prescribed fees must be submitted as part of the registration process.

This online-based examination is convenient for those who are unable to attend in person but still wish to be inducted into the professional body.

III. Executive Oral Interview

The Executive Oral Interview route is designed for highly experienced individuals who have at least 15 years of post-graduation experience and have attained high professional status in their career. This route is ideal for senior professionals such as Vice Chancellors, Professors, CEOs, and Directors-General, among others.

  • Eligibility: Individuals with a minimum of 15 years of post-graduation experience and a high professional standing in their respective fields.
  • Example Candidates: Vice Chancellors, Rectors, Director Generals of organizations, Permanent Secretaries, CEOs/Managers in extractive industries, Professors, etc.
  • Process: Candidates must attend and pass the Executive Oral Interview conducted by the council.
  • Exemption from Examination: These individuals are exempt from the written exams and can proceed directly to the oral interview based on their significant experience and accomplishments.

The Executive Oral Interview is designed to assess the candidate’s practical experience, knowledge, and leadership in their professional field. Upon successful completion, they will be inducted as full members.
